I am nearing the halfway point on my second draft of the novel. I am really getting excited about this one. In an attempt to avoid the lukewarm reception of my first novel, I am releasing an early beta reading of the first 16 chapters! I am very excited to share the two new protagonist with you. Meet Eli and Mara! 

Eli stars off as an out of place, insecure 15 year old boy with a broken family: dad is a workaholic and mom is well...an alcoholic.  All he wants to do is find a place to fit. 

Mara is the polar opposite. She is an out going, strong willed, and fiercely independent 16 year old from Northern Mexico.  She keeps people at arms lenghth and trusts few people. 

But something is different about Eli and she can't quite put her finger on it.
